This test is able to simulate the flow of fresh concrete during actual placing at sites. It is a rapid test, and the equipment is simple and easily maintained. The test has the useful characteristic of being capable of differentiation between highly workable, flowing mixes, and might there for useful for compliance testing of successive lodes on site. The timing procedure, however, may be subject to error, and ideally requires two people.
