The GUARD MONITORING SYSTEM has been specifically designed for keeping a check on the alertness of guards posted in remote areas and/or on night duty. The guard is required to press a button when the device emits a alert tone of approximately 1 minute duration which is repeated after every 15 or 30 minutes as desired through internal jumper link. If the guard fails to press the RESET button, a lapse is registered on the digital display unit. This number is incremented by one every time the guard fails to press the RESET button while the alert tone is being emitted. A total of 99 misses can be recorded on the digital display.
A nickel/ Cadmium battery is used as a back-up power source in case the mains power supply fails or is interrupted. There is a built-in battery charger to keep the internal batteries in peak condition. In order to conserve battery life, the display is automatically blanked off when in battery mode. A volume control has been provided to adjust the alert tone to a desired level.
